Karen leads strategic direction and ensures the operational effectiveness of Genomic Life as it accelerates the use of clinical-grade genomic testing as part of proactive health for everyone. She brings extensive experience in delivering strong financial results for publicly traded health plans and private equity-backed healthcare companies.
Prior to joining Genomic Life, Karen oversaw governance and operations as Executive Chairman and CEO of Advantum Health, Glenridge Healthcare Solutions, and Apollo Health Street. These roles have solidified Karen’s proven record of transforming healthcare through tech-enabled solutions.
Karen brings 30 years of leadership in the healthcare industry. She served as Senior Vice President of Provider Contracting and Medical Management for CIGNA Healthcare where she was responsible for $32 billion in medical costs for more than 12 million members. Karen also held leadership positions as Executive Director at Scripps Health, Vice President of Provider Contracting Prudential HealthCare, and President of Aetna Health Plans of Florida.
Karen received an MBA from the Graziadio Business School at Pepperdine University.
Chief Operating Officer
David drives operational efficiencies by heading up IT and Compliance, Digital Operations, and Client Services. These teams ensure a seamless experience for both clients and Genomic Life members.
Over his 30+ year career in the healthcare industry, David has held senior leadership roles with several national and regional organizations including WellPoint, Coventry Health Care, MedStar Health and Oxford Health Plans. David most recently served as the EVP of Markets and Products for CareSource where he had responsibility for the company’s $11B P&L.
David received his undergraduate degree in Community Health from the University of Rochester and his MBA in Healthcare Administration from the Zicklin School of Business.
David is passionate about incorporating everyone’s genomic insights into the practice of day-to-day medicine to promote proactive health and ultimately reduce the unnecessary costs of care.
Tod M Klingler PhD
Head of Product & Innovation
Dr. Tod Klingler is the head of product research, development, and management.
Over his 25-year career, Dr. Klingler has held leadership roles with organizations that have successfully developed and commercialized innovative products that advance the understanding of biology and improve human health including Illumina, Roche, XDx (now CareDx) and Incyte. Applying his expertise in advanced genomics and informatics technologies, Dr. Klingler has also founded start-up companies such as Prospect Genomics and Station X.
Dr. Klingler received his undergraduate degrees and PhD from Stanford University.
Tod is passionate about bringing the advances of genomics that improve human health to everyone, as well as propelling organizations forward to deliver on that mission.
Noël Rihm Obourn
Chief Commercial Officer
Noël leads the sales and marketing teams which includes the development and execution of a healthy growth strategy. She drives partnerships with employers and brokers to deliver innovative genomic solutions to the market.
She brings over three decades of leadership experience in assisting America’s largest employers, payers, and health systems in designing and achieving their populations’ health objectives.
Prior to joining Genomic Life, Noël led divisions at publicly traded and privately-held healthcare corporations including Conduent, American Well, Extend Health, and Cigna, solidifying a track-record of successfully deploying disruptive advances in healthcare. She has served as the strategic consultant and adviser to numerous organizations and is currently on the advisory board of Sword Health.
Noël holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL; she presently spends her time wherever customers, employees and colleagues need her the most.
Head of Human Resources
As Head of Human Resources, Darlene develops and executes the human resources strategy in support of the Genomic Life business plan and company vision. She is responsible for talent acquisition, organizational design, talent management, change management, succession planning, organizational and performance management, inclusion/diversity, training and development, and compensation.
Darlene’s 20 years of HR leadership experience spans across several industries including biotechnology/life science, healthcare, and technology for public, employee-owned, and private equity owned organizations. She has led integrations and due diligence processes on both the buy and sell side.
Darlene holds a BS in Human Resources from the University of Delaware and a Masters in HR Management from Widener University. She is SHRM-Senior Certified Professional and in February 2021 received a certification from the Wharton School of Business in HR Management and Analytics.
Chief Financial Officer
Chad is responsible for the overall financial strategy at Genomic Life which includes funding, financial accounting, and tax compliance.
Chad began his career as an auditor at BDO Seidman and has held various roles at Kemper Insurance, Essendant (formerly United Stationers), Clark & Wamberg, LLC and Uniphy Health. Chad has driven sales, debt, and equity transactions totaling over $200 million.
Chad holds a Bachelor of Business from Western Illinois University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
